Grants for conducting business

Any legal entity included in the Estonian commercial registrar has the right to apply for grants to initiate and conduct entrepreneurial activities. The geographic origin of the capital is not relevant when applying for grants.

The size of the grants ranges from 3,000 kroon to 10 million kroon and amounts to 30%-80% of total expenditures depending on the program. The main programs deal with investment projects, industry, exports, training and education, opening a business and more. Consultants from Enterprise Estonia (Ettevõtluse Arendamise Sihtasutus, EAS) can provide more detailed information.

On average, about 50% of applications are approved. The average timeframe for considering an application is three months. Applications are submitted in Estonian.

In addition to business grants, Estonia has a Kindred Peoples Program. Estonia strives to facilitate the development of other Finno-Ugric peoples, allocating cultural, educational and economic resources and cooperation with the governments of countries where Estonians and other Finno-Ugric peoples are represented with the aim of preserving their language and culture. As part of the program, financing is provided for the study of the Estonian language in addition to financing to Estonian citizens living in Ukraine to study at Estonian universities.
